Queens Chapter Vice President: John Tandana
Every year the UNA Queens Chapter elects a qualified individual to aid our President and help lead our Chapter to new and better endeavors.
This year the Board chose John Tandana as Vice President to the UNA-USA Queens Chapter. Please join us in welcoming John into the Chapter.

Born in Indonesia, spent 13 years in Germany and studied architecture at the University of Berlin (Master Degree), later Urban & Regional Planning at the same university for his dissertation (Ph.D). He conducted two field research projects in Indonesia on migration and regional development and worked as consultant to the Planning Board of North Sumatra.
John had a dream to join the UN to work at developing projects in Third World countries. He has traveled extensively, as of this day he has visited 30 countries. He just came back from a 10-days trip to Jamaica.
John is fluent in five languages and knows how to greet people in a dozen languages. In 1985 he immigrated to New York and since then calls it home in this great city, where he can meet people from all over the world.
John has been an active member of UNA-Queens Chapter since 2003. He is also a community activist in Queens and an Earth Trustee. He is interested in culture, music, cuisine, travel and photography. He feels we can contribute to peace in the world if we would learn the languages and understand the cultures of other people. John has a vision to make the Queens Chapter as diversified as the United Nations.
